*A cavaet for the winestopper collectors: There is a difference between stainless steel stoppers and nickel plated stoppers.
In previous years, before stainless steel stopper bases were avilable, some of our stoppers were on nickel plated bases. Now, at Rowan Tree Studios, the artist uses only stainless steel bases for the winestoppers.  Stainless steel bases are superior to nickel plated bases because the stainless steel does not pit or erode from long term use as can happen as a result of the alcohol oxidizing the nickel plating.  Stainless steel stoppers could even be used on vinegar bottles. Using nickel plated stoppers for more that one week of storage is not recommended, as pitting of the metal base can occur from long term contact with wine or other alcoholic beverages.
